The Mekong River // Vietnam Travels

This video may be deceiving - not shown: the long hours spent on a bus between each attraction. On this super environmentally charged weekend trip we visited the delta of the Mekong River, one of the most biodiverse and economically important parts of Vietnam (and one of the parts of the world most noticeably affected by climate change). While there, we saw the floating markets, visited Can Tho University, stepped inside a wind turbine, stared at a shrimp farm, and meandered through a National Park. Buzz words:
Environmental impact.
Specific point of view.
Activism.
For the sake of transparency (and so as not to disillusion anyone about my "true" abroad experience), I was aching for some alone time after hours and hours on a bumpy and cramped bus, but the beauty of the area made it infinitely more bearable. The Mekong excursion gave me the opportunity to see another side of Vietnam and understand how REAL climate change is (@POTUS). As a program-sponsored excursion, it was a more educational and formal view of the Mekong than I would have seen myself, and I am so glad I got the opportunity to see all that I did.
I am woefully behind on these travel posts so I'm hoping to just churn out a few. Bang.
